Hello people. This is a new journey. I will be working through recipes from Siddiqua Kabir's famous Ranna Khaddo Pushti.
Initially, I was not too keen on following her book, as one of the first recipes I looked up on it had errors. Most probably this was the fault of the publisher's. Certain ingredients were left out of the Ingredient's List but were mentioned in the Method section. However, all the good cooks I see follow her recipes to the T. Therefore, I have decided to give it another go.
So today, I tried something I thought would be ever so difficult. Lal Mohon. Well again, the amounts she suggested did not work out exactly. I had to tweak the recipe to get a workable dough for example. However, I'll also be the first to admit, I don't always even have the right ingredients. Anyway, so here's how it turned out. Not bad if I say so myself. The recipe is on page 317 of the cookbook. Main thing I noticed was I needed to add more powder milk and flour. I also did not have enough dough to make 20 medium pieces. I felt that mine were too small. I also had to make more sugar syrup later.
Anyway, I really enjoyed my first day of this journey and hope to do more exciting things soon!
