Ingredients:
450 gm(1 lb) hilsa steaks,
¼ cup chopped onion,
1 teaspoon ground turmeric,
1 teaspoon ground coriander,
2 green chillies,
¼ cup cooking oil,
Salt to taste.
Cooking Process:
1. Combine the ground spices, mix in ½ cup of water.
2. Heat the oil and sauté the onion. Add the mixture of spices, stir and cook for 2 minutes. Add 3 cups of water, salt and the fish. Cover, bring to boil and simmer till water has been reduced.
3. Add the chilies 8 minutes before removing from heat. This curry may be prepared with other fishes like mackerel, herring etc.
Serve with fluffy boiled rice. 4 - 6 servings.
