Ingredients:
200 gm (8 oz) okra,
1 tomato, chopped,
½ teaspoon ground turmeric,
½ teaspoon chilli powder,
2 tablespoons sliced onion,
1 teaspoon crushed garlic,
1 green chilli, sliced,
Salt to taste.
Cooking Directions:
1. Select small sized okra. Wash and drain water. Snip off both ends. If the okra is more than 6 cm long, cut into halves.
2. Heat the oil. Fry the onion and garlic light brown. Add the okra, rest of the ingredients and ¼ cup of water. Cover and cook over medium heat for six minutes. Stir once, when vegetable is cooked, remove from heat.
Serve hot with fluffy boiled rice. Yields 2 servings.
