Thick Moong Lentils

Recipe for lentils are very common recipies all over the world. Everybody likes lentil recipes. Particularly the vegetarians are very fond of moong lentils. I am really interested in recipe for lentils. Lentil is found all over the world. It is grown all over the world. Thick Moong lentils are very delicious recipe. So recipe for lentils are essential for constructing our body as well as mind. The method of preparation of this recipeis very easy. The recipe is given below;


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup moong lentils,
  • 2 teaspoons minced ginger,
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon chilli powder,
  • ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric,
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin,
  • 1 bay leaf,
  • 3 tablespoons oil or ghee,
  • ¼  cup sliced onion,
  • Salt to taste.

Directions:
·         Dry fry the moonglentils, wash and drain water. Heat the oil in saucepan. Fry half of the onion in the oil.  Add the moong lentils, the bay leaf and the minced and ground spices. Stir and fry for 2 minutes.
·         Add salt and 5 – 6 cups of water. Cover and cook till the lentils are thoroughly cooked and most of the water absorbed. Beat to mix.
·        Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry the remaining onion golden brown. Pour the cooked moonglentils into the pan.

Serve hot with boiled rice, luchi or chapatti.
